What can be read from these pages, and what only the certificate reports.

Information, Not Specification

Content published at cmmcalibrationnashville.com is general and descriptive, written to help a requester understand what can be arranged and what a request should contain. It does not serve as a technical specification, an engineering opinion, or a certificate of any kind.

Version of 2026-10-09.

Measurement Uncertainty

Uncertainty attaches to every measurement result, and the result is meaningful only when read alongside three things: the measurement uncertainty stated on the certificate, the conditions under which the measurement was made, and the method used.

Statements of conformity are a pass or fail against a tolerance, and where one is issued it rests on a decision rule agreed before the work is performed. Not one page of this site states or implies a decision rule, an uncertainty figure, or a conformity outcome for any item.

Reporting of Results

Only one place reports results: the certificate or report issued by the laboratory that performed the work, in the form in which it is issued. No page of this website, no email, and no verbal statement made while arranging work counts as a certificate of calibration, a report of results, or an amendment to either. Treat the certificate as a complete document, because that is the only way it is valid.

Accreditation Scope and Limits

The standard applied to the work described here is ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Accreditation, wherever it is referenced, belongs to the laboratory performing the work and reaches only as far as the measurements listed in that laboratory's published scope. Work outside a published scope is still performed, and is reported as non-accredited work and identified as such on the certificate.

No Advice Is Given Here

What this site does not do is give advice — engineering, metrological, legal, or regulatory — and none of it should be relied on to settle whether an instrument is fit for a particular use. External links appear only as a convenience; what they lead to is neither controlled nor endorsed. To the extent that the law permits, no liability is accepted for action taken on the strength of website content alone.
